SummaryThe popular Instagram Web Interface, Ink361, in addition to many great tools already offered, now allows users to order prints and more from their photos. With over 100M users on Instagram, people are really pushing the limits of mobile photography and taking amazing photos they want to proudly display or give as gifts. The new feature was built with a focus on ease of use and product quality. Viewing photos, being social, and ordering prints can now all be done from one elegant interface.
When Ink361 CEO, Carel Van Apeldoorn, first learned of Instagram, he instantly saw the opportunity to turn Instagrams into prints and photo printed merchandise. The objective was to built a social commerce platform that people use on a daily basis to view, curate and share their photos and those of their friends. He knew that photography would become more mainstream, with the number of serious photographers increasing because of the rapid adoption of smart phones that put cameras in the hands of first time photographers. Carel explained, “printing is a natural extension for the Instagram community. As they take amazing and fun photos, they want to turn those photos into real memories – and show them off in the real world.”
With an initial focus on building the product, the team, and the user base, printing was next on our priority list and Ink361 set out to make this process easier than traditional online printing services that put less emphasis on the social element.
It works very simple! In the new version of Ink361.com, all photos you've uploaded to Instagram show up with a “Buy Print” button, so ordering is just 1 click away. Currently available in US and Canada, users can choose from luxurious fine art prints, beautiful photo prints, ready to hang framed prints, eye-catching canvas prints or stunning metal prints.
The team at Ink361, consisting of entrepreneurs and veterans of the photography industry, worked to select top quality products that match the unique style – and shape – of Instagram photos. The team is working from 3 continents and applies the concept of the virtual office for conducting business.
